J. Shade, born Jordan Shade, blessed his parents when he entered this world on May 10, 1986, in Des Moines, IA. His passion for music began early. He always knew he wanted to be a musician. Playing drums for the local drill teams and his church, at the age of 7.
Right after high school, J. Shade began pursuing his musical career after he moved to Minnesota to pursue his degree in Music Business. Shade accredits his time at school for his in-depth knowledge of the ins-and-outs of the business behind music, in conjunction with the tricks-of-the-trade of recording.
After returning to Des Moines, J. Shade answered the requests of the people and began to record and perform, at sold-out venues. Thanks to the success that he saw from his Iowa tour, Shade released his debut album “Hot like Fire” in 2007. His first single from the album was even selected by 'Hip Hop Heaven', a well-known local clothing store to be used in it's nationally syndicated commercial.
Fast forward to 2011, Shade was hired by Iowa State University to write their football team's theme song "All In," which is still the fan-favorite to this day.
Since then, J. Shade has been creating music and performing all over the nation — and thanks to an incredible opportunity in May of 2012 — in Sweden, as well. Shade has also performed alongside legendary acts such as K-Ci and Jo-Jo, Jim Jones, and Juelz Santana, Paul Wall, Plies, Rick Ross, and even the S.O.S. band.
Now residing in Atlanta, GA, Shade has released his fourth album, Real Life, an album that not only speaks to your wins, but also to your lessons, love life, and to one's ups and downs.
